What To Expect When Booking Cat Sitting

Our office hours are 9am to 5pm Monday-Saturday. Due to the nature of what we do it is sometimes hard to get to the phone so please leave a message, or send an enquiry via email, and we will respond to you as soon as we can – usually within 8 working hours.

Please send an enquiry via email with the date of your holiday, how many visits you would like per day and your address. You will receive a reply within 8 working hours to arrange the meet/greet appointment which is when you will get the chance to go through your cat’s particular requirements, their feeding regime and anything else that might be relevant with your sitter. Payment is in advance of the first scheduled service, and you will receive a PDF invoice via email. We accept BACs payments only for our cat sitting service.

A meet and greet will be scheduled with your cat sitter in advance of your trip at a mutually convenient time. During this meeting you will get the chance to go through your cats feeding regime, medication schedule (if they are on one) and anything else which might be relevant.

Please ensure that you have given us an emergency contact and have filled out your cat’s online profile with any important information with regards their health. Adequate food for the duration of your trip should be left out, along with litter to freshen up their tray as and when required. If you would like your cat kept in during your holiday, please ensure the cat flap is locked and we are notified of this in advance.

We ask for at least 48 hours’ notice for any cancellations which must be made in writing via the online pet portal we use. You can read our full terms and conditions here.

What To Expect When Booking Cat Grooming

Our office hours are 9am to 5pm Monday-Saturday. Due to the nature of what we do it is sometimes hard to get to the phone so please leave a message, or send an enquiry via email, and we will respond to you as soon as we can – usually within 8 working hours.

As our grooming clients are serviced within their home we try to be as flexible as possible with our appointment scheduling times. Evening and weekend appointments do tend to get booked up far in advance as our clients have their kitties on maintenance schedules; but feel free to ask if you have a special scheduling requirement and we will do what we can to accommodate your request.

Once your enquiry has been received, we will contact you within 8 hours to discuss your cat’s grooming requirements. If we can accommodate your request, you will receive an invoice via email with the Booking Fee and Balance clearly displayed. On receipt of the Booking Fee (which acts as your deposit) your appointment will be scheduled in and you will receive confirmation via email. The balance is due on the day of the groom appointment and can be paid via BACs or cash.

We will discuss the best location for your cat’s groom in advance of their first appointment, but these typically take place in the bathroom, laundry room or utility. Please have the area cleared out so it is a clean, safe, and workable space in which to conduct the groom. We also recommend you keep the cat in on the day of their appointment so that time is not lost hunting for them (they are very clever and may ‘disappear’ for a few hours or when they see us turn up).

Prior to your cat’s first groom, we will assess their coat condition, temperament, and ability to be handled, along with any health issues that need to be considered. This will form the basis of your cat’s ongoing maintenance grooming schedule which we will discuss with you prior to their groom.

Your cat’s health, safety and emotional welfare is our main priority, so we tailor each session according to the cat and their coat condition, temperament, and handling ability. This will all impact on the length of their appointment time.

This will vary depending on a number of factors such as the quality of your cat’s coat, their temperament and ease of handling. My aim is to provide a grooming experience which is stress free for your cat so the duration of their appointment will be very much dictated by them; but as a guide please allow for me being in your house between 1.5hrs to 2hrs.

This does vary depending on the cat and various other factors, but The National Cat Groomers Association recommends:

Long hair ~ every 4 – 6 weeks

Medium hair ~ every 6 – 8 weeks

Short hair ~ every 8 – 12 weeks

It’s understandable that plans change, and emergencies sometimes come up, but we ask where possible that you give us 72 hours’ notice for any cancellations (which must be made by telephone). We will always do our best to reschedule your appointment to the next available slot that works for you, but please be aware that cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice, or where the cat is not there on arrival, will be charged at 50% of the groom.
